Reasons to Stop Learning

The more I learn, the more wrong I see.

The more wrong I see, the more I want to correct.

The more I want to correct, the more I suffer.

So the only thing worth learning is to learn to be a good man. Then waste no more time arguing about what a good man should be.

Just be one.

Nothing else is worth learning more than the people around you.

So... teach the people around you who's willing to learn. As they learn, I can learn more.

Unless that happens, learn no more.

Heaven

So there's this really good story from the book, A History of the World in 10½ Chapters, by Julian Barnes where people go to heaven and what they're doing in heaven is they're very given what they think is immortality.

So one guy he practices golf until he's getting a score of 18 right and then he's sort of like okay, what do I do now? What are we doing? Then he comes to st. Peter and he says, okay like what's going on? What's wrong? Aren't you doing everything you want?

The guy replies, I am! But like I get great at it, I get great at everything! And I'm kindda done...

And then St. Peter says, ah now you get the point of Heaven. The point of Heaven isn't to live out immortality. It is to make you accept death.

*Mind blown*

What a story... surprise no Christians (or any Heaven believers) ever told me this because this was a missing piece for me for a very long time. Why would anyone want to go to Heaven? If there's no suffering there, there's nothing to fix. There's no purpose in life for Heaven. Everything you see (if we do see) on Earth cannot be interfered. That's hell! Imagine the torture I'd have to endure after learning everything I've learned and seeing whoever's left on Earth making all the ignorant mistakes, over and over again.

But now... if Heaven is to make us accept death. It has a purpose. But the next problem now is, what's next after that? 🤔

Shank's Quote

"I've been well taken care of up to this point. I ain't greedy, but people was my kind of talents aren't common. All I'm looking for is a continuation of the lifestyle I've become accustomed to."
~ Shank, Fallout 4
